Type Locality and Naming

From the Tajik name of the gravel, Tajikistan. M.R. Jalilov, Yu.N. Andreev, F.Kh. Hakimov et al., 1971 (191, p.74). Stratotype in the area of Ravat village, on the right bank of the Yagnob River.

Synonym: Sangrezinskaya Suite, Сангрезинская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Red-colored polymictic conglomerates with interlayers of variegated siltstone (aleurolites), gravellites, and sandstones. Thickness 44-105m.

Lower contact

Transgressively overlies the Jurassic
